In a shocking incident that has left the local community reeling, two men have been charged in connection with a vicious attack on Preston Coleman, a 52-year-old grandfather, that occurred at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 3577 in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, on January 5, 2025.
Details of the Attack
The assault was described as "unprovoked and vicious" by authorities. Coleman, who remains on a ventilator at UPMC Presbyterian after suffering massive head trauma, was reportedly conversing with then 39-year-old Brett Ours shortly before the attack began. Video footage from inside the VFW captures the horrifying sequence of events, revealing Ours engaging Coleman in conversation before violently hitting him.
According to the police reports, within minutes of sitting down next to Coleman, Ours began stabbing the bar top with a knife while glaring at Coleman. The attack escalated quickly, with Ours throwing punches that sent Coleman to the ground, where he continued to attack him for over half an hour, delivering more than 300 punches and kicks to Coleman's head and neck area.
